Ratatouille a movie that is favourited by many but did you ever stop to think that Gusteau actually might never have been an actual cook and that he had rat of his own too?
First of all we know Gusteau had a girlfriend this is mentioned in the movie when Linguini enters the restaurant for the 1st time for a job the quote spoken by Larousse is “Hey, boss, look who it is! Alfredo Linguini! Renata's little boy! All grown up, eh? You remember Renata. Gusteau's old flame?” Also quoted on the pixar wiki (pixar.wikia.com/Renata
Linguini) is “Renata Linguini is Linguini's deceased mother and Gusteau’s old girlfriend. She left a letter for Skinner to get Linguini a job at Gusteau's. Her letter says she died of sickness and Linguini is Gusteau’s son. Just because she is called “girlfriend” doesn’t mean they haven’t gotten married yet. A private wedding could have been arranged and Renata and Gusteau could have a child together later they got divorced and separated without letting anyone know they had a child. Reneta probably got remarried and had more children, which would make Linguini the oldest but it’s unclear whether she remarried and if Linguini was an only child; It would make more sense if she got remarried because then Linguini would think that was his real family and he wasn’t related to Gusteau and others would still agree that Gusteau didn’t have any children. The possible reason why Gusteau got divorced is that Gusteau either didn’t want to take care of a child but that doesn’t really match with his joyful, cheerful, moral attitude (unless of course it’s a cover up but that’s REALLY NOT LIKLEY) therefore the most likely reason they split was to give Linguini a better chance when he got older to become the new owner of Gusteau's restaurant, when Gusteau would sadly pass away giving him a great career for the future; in case if anyone ever found out that Gusteau was never a real cook and that he was a fake.
Secondly if Linguini is Gusteau’s son then why wouldn’t they both have the same hair thing going? It’s probably a genetic thing that runs in the family (or something) meaning that Gusteau could have and can have a rat in his toque controlling all of his movements like what we see with Remy and Linguini.
Thirdly Gusteau was one of the youngest chef’s in the world to get a five star rating and his amazing rise to the top of cuisines; that sounds a lot like Linguini! Linguini only got popular because he had a RAT that knew how to cook and the result was that the food was very delicious. Maybe Gusteau did have a rat that knew how to cook too and that’s why he’s so popular.
Fourthly the hair sample that Talon Labarthe (Skinner’s lawyer) took that came back and is said that “the sample that YOU gave me came back from the lab and had to be sent back again because the 1st time it came back it was classified as rodent hair”, the sample was either Gusteau’s or Linguini’s, it was most likely Linguini’s because earlier on in the movie Skinner was told that he had to get a DNA sample from Linguini (probably a hair) he probably got a hair sample when he did the “got your toque thing” because it can’t just be a gap in the movie that is mentioned then left alone. If it’s the other way and somehow they got DNA from Linguini and the sample mentioned was from Gusteau’s then obviously he had a rat controlling him.
Fifthly “anyone can cook” this quote mentioned by Gusteau may have been influenced by his possible rat because near the end of the movie Anton Ego (The critique) realised what Gusteau meant by witnessing RAT’S and how they could cook which influenced his understanding of the quote “anyone can cook”.
People also may think that Remy’s dad was once Gusteau’s possible rat but that can’t be true because he has a lack of understanding around cuisine; he should have a great understanding about it because if he used to work in a kitchen he should know a lot about them but clearly he doesn’t really.
In conclusion if Linguini is Gusteau’s son then why wouldn’t he have the hair thing going too? Also if Renata had a private marriage with Gusteau then that gives the excuse for nobody knowing that they had a child together, Gusteau’s success’s sound a lot like Linguini and Lastly if “Anyone can cook” was influenced Gusteau’s rat then all of this means that he was possibly not even a real cook at all and was controlled by a rat just like Linguini to success and fame.
